Welcome to the Game Plan for growing sports chaplaincy!
It’s our passion as a network of chaplains to see a chaplain serving in every local sports club in Australia. In fact, that’s our vision!
We hope that you are as excited for the potential of having men and women serving Christ in sports throughout Australia as we are! As SCA is more of a movement of chaplains serving out of their local church our model for ministry is far less structured – or more organic – than most.
We are like a footy team. Once the whistle blows we are all working together to see God’s grace and mercy touch our community. We have permission to play. We don’t have to wait for the captain to give us permission to kick or tackle, we just go ahead and do it. We work authentically together and occasionally stop to discuss tactics and hear from the coach. But once it’s time to play we just play.
We look forward to working in partnership with you! Game on!

Have you started a CBT? Please let us know. Click here to register your team.
Every great team has a great plan. And we think our Community Based Team (CBT) strategy is a great way to get chaplains serving in sports clubs!
We will be re-launching a swag of resources for CBTs in early 2019. If you need more information now, please contact one of our state representatives listed on the Contact Us page.
See if we are running a Level 1 (CBT) course in your area. Otherwise contact your regional coordinator in your area (see below).
We need chaplains, family, friends, churches, men’s leaders, women’s leaders … just about anyone to help us run a 3 hour CBT training course in your area. If you’re up for it (chaplains) you can deliver it. Or maybe you want to run one and we will send you a trainer! Either way, we need your help to get us in the game! … Are you up for it?
