Michael Pailthorpe, SCA’s newly appointed National Director, commences

As previously announced, Michael Pailthorpe has started in his role as National Director of Sports Chaplaincy Australia. Like all good “visitors” to our office at Etihad Stadium, it was compulsory for him to take a selfie with any on-hand staff. In this case, it’s Steve Stubbings and Herbert Um who are complying with the wishes of the new “boss”.

Michael has been diligently touching base with many of SCA’s people. He has been listening to amazing and inspiring stories of chaplaincy from across Australia, and this has increased his already well-developed enthusiasm about the future of the ministry of sports chaplaincy. A meeting last week in Sydney saw him connect with some of the longest serving members of SCA – including David Tyndall, Garry Coleman and Gary Speckman – and all left encouraged by Michael and his leadership.
