A local church in the heart of the Victorian Snow Fields made a decision this year to be a major sponsor of their local football and netball club with a heartfelt response from club volunteers.
For the past 12 months Bright Church of Christ have been serving their local club through their chaplain Graeme Mancer when they decided to become a major sponsor of the club.

As a part of the chaplaincy service the church also runs an annual community breakfast service for the club leading up to the new season. Inviting all players and coaches as a way to build strong connections in their community.
President Priscilla Williamson from United Bright Football and Netball Club warmly shared, “We encourage all players, members, supporters and fellow sponsors to come and join us. It is important as a club to take the opportunity to thank and recognise a fantastic sponsor and contributor to both our Club and Community.” Further adding, “it is an important program and we are very lucky to have Graeme around the club this year as our Chaplain.”
Despite the rough time in Australian sport it’s refreshing to see a club committed to building a healthy and vibrant club, but equally encouraging to see the local church taking the first step.
The UBFNC club website says, “It is important for us as a club to not only nurture and coach our players to become better footballers or netballers but to also strive to be better young men and women in our community.”
A goal well worth pursuing.
