SCA’s Centre Bounce Team (CBT) growth model continues to impact countries far and wide with Waqa Baravilala from Melbourne running the Level 1 training course in Papua New Guinea this week.
Baravilala reported, “We started our Clinic last week. Their interest and love for the concept of [sports] Chaplaincy here is amazing. We did the Centre Bounce teaching and it rolls with deep interest. [I] also shared about it on Sunday at Boroko Baptist Church.”
Waqa and his wife Jade are based in Melbourne at WYAM’s base in Surrey Hills training dozens of Fijian and Islanders in Christian ministry, sports chaplaincy and Rugby. They travel regularly to the South Pacific to run their Rugby Plus Program in Fiji and Vanuatu.
In January 2016 they plan to run the first ever SCA Level 2 Certificate of Sports Chaplaincy Course on Ovalau Island where they have a Rugby Training Academy. Many people from around the Pacific are expected to come to the Level 2 Course planned for 13-15 January 2016. After the PNG training Baravilala said, “A couple of [PNG] people are also planning to come.”
More information about the L2 Training in Fiji will be announced during October.
