Long serving SCA Chaplain and former National Coordinator Rev. David Tyndall has been honoured at the 2011 National Chaplains Summit with an award being named in his honour.
The ‘David Tyndall Award’ is presented to a Chaplain who faithfully represents Jesus Christ to their sports community.
National Director Cam Butler, said, “In a world torn apart by wars, fighting and hatred our network around Australia think it important to honour the things Jesus stood for. Amazing mercy, grace, hope and truth in a very tangible and genuine way.” “David Tyndall has been an outstanding ambassador for Jesus Christ on and off the field, as both a player and now as a chaplain. So, on behalf of the Board and Members of SCA it’s an honour to name this award after him.”
The inaugural Award was then presented to St Albans Spurs VWFL Chaplain Isabelle Scott in Geelong. With Tyndall saying, “Isabelle has been a great ambassador for Jesus Christ in her Chaplaincy at St Albans women’s football club.”
The 2011 Brian King Award was presented to South Australian Coordinator Roger Johnston for his commitment in growing the ministry of Sports Chaplaincy.
