Sports Chaplaincy New Zealand Chairman Martyn Norrie announced today that former UK based St Helens Rugby League Football Club (Saints) chaplain Phil Pawley as the new SCNZ agency leader in February 2018.
Phil Pawley is currently the Senior Pastor of Morrinsville Baptist Church, NZ
Former CEO Ross Georgiou said of the appointment, “Phil we say Welcome! Haere Mai! We are excited about you leading us into the next chapter of Sports Chaplaincy NZ. We are grateful to you and to Diane for the life experiences that have brought you to this point and that have prepared you for the future of Sports Chaplaincy NZ.” adding, “Thank you for answering the call.”
Martyn furthering this view saying, “We are thankful to God for bringing Phil to us to lead us in this next season of expansion in New Zealand.”
Together with Ross Georgiou, Martyn asked that we “…especially pray for Phil and Diane to quickly become familiar and at home with Sports Chaplaincy NZ.”
SCA congratulate the team at SCNZ and welcome Phil on board.
