As 2016 comes to an end and 2017 takes off the AFL will capture our attention with the launch of the first ever National Women’s Competition.
February and March will see the competition rounds lead into the men’s season. Eight inaugural teams will compete including the MelbourneFC, Bulldogs, Collingwood, GWS, Fremantle, Carlton, Adelaide and the Brisbane Lions.
SCA will be in the mix with a number of chaplains serving in the teams. We look forward to hearing more about their roles throughout the year. So keep an eye on the SCA website for further updates.
If you would like to serve in women’s AFL or other community sports please don’t hesitate to contact us. You can complete your Level 2 Sports Chaplaincy Certificate and Apply for Sports Chaplaincy Membership Credential which is the base requirement for chaplaincy in sports in Australia.
All the best to the girls as they battle it out in the new year.
