Our clubs love their chaplains! The great work of some of our chaplains was acknowledged at the 2015 Victorian Chaplain’s Celebration Dinner recently.
Ballarat Australian Rules and Speedway chaplain, Noel Mitaxa was awarded the prestigious “David Tyndall Award.”
Rev. Dr. David Tyndall has been one of the pioneers in sports chaplaincy in Australia. The award acknowledges Noel as a pioneer and a “faithful and enthusiastic representative of Jesus Christ to his sports community” (1 Tim.15). Well done Noel!
A Life Membership award was awarded to the legendary racing bikes chaplain Geoff Glass who has served in motor sports for over 20 years, including the MotoGP at Phillip Island.
Also acknowledged for his 20 years of outstanding chaplaincy was Bill Vassiliou. Bill serves at the Hawthorn Football Club.
Ten year awards were given to VFL Zebra’s Chaplain Phil Martin and Speedway Chaplain Daryl Clark.
Congratulations to ALL our hard working chaplains who take Jesus’ grace and mercy into their clubs.
